The BBC has stressed, however, that there is nothing stopping employees partying at their own expense.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The economic downturn is the official excuse for the cutback but staff believe the reason lies more in the current political climate and fear of negative headlines.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">* * *<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Paperstone says:<\/h2>\n<p>Don&#8217;t cancel your office party. In terms of expenditure, a Christmas party is very small in relation to your salary bill and as such is a smart investment with payback in morale and productivity.
