A man who posted a joke on Twitter that he would blow Doncaster Robin Hood Airport “sky high” if his flight was delayed was detained under the Terrorism Act, banned from the airport and suspended from his job.<\/p>\n
Finding that the Doncaster airport had been closed due to heavy snow, and worried that his flight to Ireland might be delayed, Paul Chambers tweated:<\/p>\n
“Robin Hood airport is closed. You’ve got a week and a bit to get your **** together, otherwise I’m blowing the airport sky high!!”<\/p>\n
A follower didn’t find this joke bomb threat very funny and reported him to the police who summarily arrested him. He was questioned for seven hours as he tried to convince the police that his post was, in fact, funny.<\/p>\n
