Xerox offices were the first ones with personal computers as we know them now. In 1973 the Xerox Alto was the first computer to use a mouse-like device. The company didn’t see the Alto as being commercially viable and it was never sold as such. It was, however, installed in Xerox’s offices worldwide and in offices of the US government and military.
