Printer cartridges come in three main types; laser toner cartridges, Inkjet Cartridges and Dot matrix ribbons. However the majority of printer cartridges produced are laser or inkjet cartridges. A printer cartridge is any cartridge that fits into a modern printer.

Choosing the right Printer cartridges

Choosing the right printer cartridges is simple; just select the brand of your printer from the list at the top of the printer supplies page, you then have to select the printer type, for example inkjet printer or laser printer. You then proceed to choose the model number of the printer you are looking for. At Paperstone we recommend original printer cartridges; therefore if you have a Hewlett Packard printer then we would recommend using Hewlett Packard printer cartridges. Although there are alternative printer cartridges they tend to deliver lower quality print quality, they can however be substantially cheaper.

Am I better off with inkjet cartridges or laser cartridges?

Different people are suited to different printers and therefore different printer cartridges. The main advantage of inkjet cartridges is they are considerably cheaper than laser toners. The down side is that they do not last as long, and are less cost effective. Inkjet cartridges tend to be used by home users, who do not need the economies of scale created by laser cartridges. Most offices will use laser toners as they are the most cost effective form of printer cartridge.
