Office machines manufacturer 'to offset carbon emissions'
13/02/2008 16:16
One of the world's largest office machines manufacturers has launched a carbon offsetting scheme across Australia and New Zealand in a bid to limit its impact on the environment.
For every office machine purchased, HP will offset the emissions associated with the devices' estimated power consumption over their useful lifetime.
The office machines company will work with the federal governments of both Australia and New Zealand and will contribute for all HPprinter cartridges and office products sold.
HP is to back the Climate Positive foundation, which has set up a number of environmental projects in Tasmania and Western Australia.
Annukka Dickens, environment manager at HP South Pacific, said: "We feel that a long-term investment in renewable energy really complements [other programs] at HP."
Recently HP and computer manufacturer Dell joined up alongside over 300 other global companies for an environmental programme.
The Carbon Disclosure Project aims to increase efficiency in the supply chains of multi-national corporations, with emphasis put on the number of vehicles on the road and the amount of environmentally-friendly office supplies used.
At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of office machines.
