Office machines firm 'to launch product in Middle East'

One of the world's largest office equipment manufacturers has announced it plans to launch a popular line of office products in the Middle East.

Epson has stated its desire to launch the Stylus Photo R290 office machines in the region after huge success with the product in the US, UK and continental Europe.

The printer, which features Epson Claria Photographic Ink, can produce studio-quality photographs within 27 seconds and can print A4 documents at a speed of up to 37 pages per minute.

Khalil El Dalu, general manager of Epson Middle East, said: "With the market for high-end digital cameras growing steadily in the Middle East, consumers need a printer that can maximise the potential of their camera and deliver high-quality results.

"With its Claria Photographic Ink, the Stylus Photo R290 ideally complements the latest D-SLR and mega-pixel cameras, giving better photos than the photo lab at impressive print speeds and colour reproduction."

Last week, the US government sided with Epson over new proposals to clamp down on the illegal printer cartridges refilling industry. New regulations drawn up by Epson and the office of the US trade representative will come into force in the US later this year.
