Office equipment firm 'in global green companies list'

A major office equipment and office machines manufacturer has been named among the most environmentally-friendly companies in the world.
According to the Annual General Meeting of the World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland earlier this month, Ricoh is one of the most environmentally conscious companies in the world, judged upon the carbon emissions levels of their office products and their distribution systems and networks.
Known as the Global 100, the top 100 corporations in the world are selected from more than 1,800 large corporations in all business sectors based on research and analysis of data provided by Innovest Strategic Value Advisors in the US.
Ricoh's Peter Van der Kaag, said: "While the rigorous selection process caused more than one third of the Global 100 corporations to be replaced between 2007 and 2008, Ricoh has the honour of making the list four years in a row."
Earlier this month, Ricoh launched two new office products designed to help out mid to large-sized companies.
The new Aficio MP 4000 and MP 5000 from Ricoh can print up to 50 pages per minute and are more environmentally-friendly than many other office products made by the manufacturer.
