Konica Minolta 'to expand office machines ranges after acquisition'
01/06/2008 13:56
A major office machines manufacturer has signed a deal to buy out the US subsidiary of one of its rivals in a multi-million pound agreement.
Konica Minolta has bought out Danka Office Imaging Company (DOIC), the partner of London-based office products firm Danka for $450 million (£228 million).
The deal will see Konica Minolta expand its range of office supplies and office equipment in the US, as well as cement its place in the office machines market in the UK and Europe.
A statement from Konica Minolta read: "Through this acquisition, Konica Minolta aims to further increase its share in the office colour equipment.
"In the production print field, our competitiveness will be further bolstered by making the most of DOIC's sales and support organisation."
Earlier this month, Konica Minolta and Oce - a Dutch manufacturer - agreed that they will work together on a number of projects and will market their office machines using the same agency and techniques.
Officially signed on April 4th, the deal will cover off office machines and office products manufactured by the two companies. No jobs will be lost at either firm.
At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of office machines.
