Konica Minolta and Oce in office machines development deal
24/05/2008 12:41
Two major office machines manufacturers have signed a deal which will see them work together and share knowledge on new technologies in the office products industry.
Japanese firm Konica Minolta and Oce - a Dutch manufacturer - will work together on a number of projects and will market their office machines using the same agency and techniques.
Officially signed on April 4th, the deal will cover off office machines and office products manufactured by the two companies. No jobs will be lost at either firm.
A statement by Konica Minolta said: "The companies will jointly develop monochrome and colour output equipments for the light and mid-range production equipment market, which is expected to grow rapidly."
The statement added that Konica Minolta will gain a strategic development relationship and an entry point in to one of the most competitive areas of the office machines sector.
In February, Konica Minolta launched the Bizhub 40P laser printer. According to the company, its rapid print speed of 43 pages per minute means it can meet continuous demand for large quantities of monochrome documents.
