Kodak reaches green office machines targets
24/07/2008 04:36
A major office products manufacturer has announced that it has surpassed environmental targets that it made itself in order to go green.
Two years ago, Kodak set itself targets in order to improve the sustainability of its office products, including an overhaul of all its printer cartridges and increasing the use of renewable energies in its offices.
Since then, Kodak has reduced its total energy usage - at its sites across the world - by 30 per cent and achieved a 28 per cent reduction in the total greenhouse gas emissions, compared with the 2002 levels.
It has also recycled or reused 42 million pounds worth of printer cartridges and office machines and used them for future office equipment projects.
Last month, Kodak launched a range of new office machines which can enable users to set them up in a number of international languages.
The Kodak s1220 - which has been a successful model of office equipment in English speaking countries - now supports digital conversion of photos and vital documents in French, German, Italian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese simplified, Chinese traditional, Japanese and Russian.
