15/06/2008 19:25
One of the world's largest manufacturers of office machines and office equipment has signed a major deal with animated film company Dreamworks.
HP will work with the company to develop a range of technologies aimed at helping the animation sector, as well as launching a range of office products and LCD systems.
In fact, the two companies have worked on the HP DeeanColour Technology computer display, which will be able to link up to a range of office machines and office products.
Todd Bradley, executive vice president of the personal systems group at HP, said: "In the digital world, the media and entertainment industry often sets the pace for technology innovation.
"The HP DreamColour display is a disruptive technology inspired by users, like DreamWorks Animation, that challenge HP to deliver exciting innovations that truly impact our customers' businesses."
Earlier this month, HP launched a programme in the US state of California to highlight consumer recycling of printer cartridges and inkjet cartridges.
HP signed a deal with the state government to provide recycling facilities at all state buildings so that HPprinter cartridges - as well as other brands - can be recycled.
Together, the partnership aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by as much as 500 tonnes per year.
