Canon launches "compact" office machines

A major office machines manufacturer has launched a new "compact" range of office products aimed at small businesses and home-based workers.

Canon's new Pixma iP100 range of office equipment offers users a mid-priced printer, which has both network and wireless capabilities.

The office machines come complete with new technology developed by Canon to create more detailed photo printing. The printer cartridges and print head can produce photos up to 9,600dpi - which is usually seen only in photo labs.

According to Canon, the office machines can print a borderless colour photo in 50 seconds, while it can print up to 20 documents per minute.

Canon added: "Weighing just two kilogrammes, the compact and stylish PIXMA iP100 can easily be carried wherever it needs to go, providing the ultimate in printing freedom."

Earlier this month, Canon launched its new Colour imageRUNNER C3480/C3080 Series of office machines, which are part of the company's multi-function printer products and offer printing, scanning and copying facilities.

The office machines can print at up to 34 pages per minute, while offering "robust" finishing options and high quality document production.
