Sort your office space and boost productivity
15/05/2007 16:42
With more and more UK office staff spending the majority of their working day sat behind a computer on their desk, one website has come up with some tips to improve the experience.
Webworkerdaily.com speculates: "Isn't everyone a web worker these days?" and offers a series of suggestions to help boost productivity.
The first tip is to 'lift up your laptop', arguing that a raised machine will be good for "cooling" and "ergonomics".
Then the website suggests removing unnecessary wires by using a wireless mouse and keyboard.
Next up, office staff are urged to organise the remaining computer wires and cables by tying them up with binder clips or elastic pony tail holders.
The site then reveals that staff should organise office supplies more efficiently, perhaps by putting them in a desk drawer.
One site reader suggested buying a small toolbox, adding: "Things like envelopes, stamps, erasers, pencil leads, paper clips and bulldog clips" could be stored away.
"Get different sizes of stuff to ensure that you have the right size for the job," he added. "Nice and neat in the little toolbox, you can set it on the floor next to your desk, rather than on the desk."
At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of office supplies.
