New HP multi-function printers unveiled
12/04/2007 16:09
Hewlett-Packard (HP) has unveiled two new multi-function printing machines that boast its new Edgeline ink-jet technology.
The new CM8060 and CM8050 colour multifunction devices will be the envy of offices across the UK, as they reduce printing costs for enterprises.
Printing speeds of up to 60 pages per minute also make the new models an attractive prospect and their usage-based service means customers can buy or lease printers, maintenance and ink refills from HP.
The Edgeline ink-based printing technology is designed to meet greater workloads, while retaining high speeds, quality performance and cost effectiveness.
Around 60,000 nozzles spray ink over the pages as the paper moves.
Michael Hoffmann, senior vice president of HP's imaging and printing group in Europe, told ITPro.co.uk: "We are seeing clear growth in certain device categories among small to mid-size businesses, as these organisations come under increasing pressure to improve the quality and look of every item of printed media that comes out of the business.
"Edgeline can deliver copy-room speeds but from a printer offering high quality and colour output."
HP headquaters are based in California and the company employs around 150,000 staff worldwide.
