Printer supplies giant Hewlett-Packard (HP) has announced the appointment of David E. Roberson as senior vice president and general manager of the company's enterprise storage business.
Mr Roberson joins the printer supplies specialist from IT rival Hitachi and as head of StorageWorks, will be charged with pursuing new opportunities for growth worldwide and building on HP's strong storage solutions reputation.
Scott Stallard, senior vice president and general manager of HP Enterprise Servers and Storage, said: "We are fortunate to have an executive of Dave's stature to run HP StorageWorks.
"He is an accomplished industry veteran with considerable expertise in all areas of business leadership."
Meanwhile, the printer supplies expert also announced that it has enhanced its service management portfolio to help customers take advantage of ITIL v3.
"ITIL v3 is a framework of global IT management best practices intended to help facilitate the delivery of high-quality IT services across the complete service management lifecycle," an HP statement revealed.
HP is a global market leader not only in terms of inkjet cartridges and other printer supplies, but also business consulting and IT services.
Mike Rigodanzo, senior vice president of technology services at HP, said the new service management offerings would help customers deliver "consistent and predictable service levels".
