HP aims to maintain market grip with merchandising drive

Printer supplies Hewlett-Packard (HP) is set to try and tighten its grip on the $15 billion (£7.5 billion) printer supplies market by rolling out a new packaging and merchandising initiative.

The printer supplies expert will be updating its marketing strategy, dividing its range into three coloured-coded sections, dependent on quality and cost.

HP is the world's leading printer supplies retailer, claiming a 40 per cent market share and a 452 million unit install base in the global market.

The IT giant is planning to give its customers more choice than ever before when buying inkjet cartridges and other printer supplies.

Leo Lynch, HP imaging and printing group, south pacific supplies business manager, said: "For more than 25 years our customers only had the option of one cartridge for their HP printer.

"Now customers can pick a cartridge which has been designed with their specific needs, expectations and usage in mind."

Blue is the colour for HP's standard range products, green packaging represents value offerings and its speciality photo printing range will come in red.

The printer supplies firm will be actively training staff in the coming months to ensure they are familiar with the new developments.

At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of printer supplies.
