Epson's new printers 'achieve high image quality'
13/09/2007 11:50
Office equipment manufacturer Epson has unveiled an updated range of large-format printers which it claims exceeds the image quality offered by previous models.
These office machines are aimed at professionals who work in the creative arts, as well as commercial print shops and photographic labs.
New printers Stylus Pro 4880, 7880 and 9880 are fresh and improved versions of models which already exist.
"This latest generation of Epson Stylus Pro printers represents a level of technology never before seen in this market," said Mark Radogna, a group product manager of professional imaging at Epson.
"By collaborating with the world's greatest creative professionals, we've been able to advance the state of photographic printing to unprecedented levels."
The office machines achieve their high-quality printing via Epson's new MicroPiezo AMC print head, Epson AccuPhoto HD screening technology and various other advancements.
Regarding printing size, the 4880 can produce 17-inch-wide images, while the 7880 and 9880 can produce 24-inch and 44-inch prints respectively.
Meanwhile, Epson has also introduced another completely new printer, the 11880. These office machines use MicroPiezo TFP technology, with a nine-channel ink system which allows for all ink to be used without swapping printer cartridges.
