Entrepreneur helping special needs kids

Office equipment An entrepreneur from Stafford has been declared "top of the class" for his educational work with special needs children.

Shaun Hamer spent 20 years trying to prove his old teachers wrong by setting up his own business, after they told him he would never amount to anything.

Now 40-year-old Mr Hamer has finally launched his company, a computer software firm supplying office equipment to children with special needs.

Supported by Business Link West Midlands, Hamer Technology is going from strength to strength, employing five people to help the firm cope with growing demand.

Mr Hamer revealed that he empathises with special needs students because their disability doesn't affect their IQ, but their "relationship with the world".

"Getting the specialist office equipment they need to help them overcome their problems can make the difference between them getting a basic pass and graduating with a first class degree," he said.

"My life aim was always to do something that helps somebody else and I'm now achieving that."

His company provides a range of office equipment and IT solutions, such as adjustable office desks to accommodate wheelchairs and modified printers and scanners.

At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of office equipment.
