Digital paper shredder to cut Vista security threats
14/02/2007 14:50
Businesses investing in the latest Microsoft applications will be relieved to know that a digital paper shredder is compatible with the software.
Blancco, a firm specialising in software designed to erase valuable and sensitive data, has confirmed that its File Shredder software will be fully compatible with the Vista operating system.
Vista has been designed with data security in mind and includes an innovative new feature that saves point-in-time versions of documents so that they can be retrieved if they are inadvertently deleted or destroyed.
However, this poses its own security risk as files containing sensitive data can be restored even if the original has been removed.
But, according to Blancco, its File Shredder software gets around this problem by comprehensively rooting out and destroying all versions of files created and stored by Vista.
Kim Vaisanen, from Blancco, said: "This is definitely another milestone that we are proud of and it is a testament of our unwavering commitment to offer the most secure and advanced data destruction software than can overcome any technological challenge."
Mr Vaisanen has added that many companies are evidently still lax in their attitudes towards using paper shredders as stories of valuable information being stolen surface on a daily basis.
At Paperstone, we have a full range of paper shredders to help protect your data.
