Brother printer supplies wins eco plaudits
04/06/2007 17:21
Office products manufacturer Brother has been named as the most ethical company in the technology sector by the Ethical Company Organisation (ECO).
The ECO measures a company's ethical performance based on its energy consumption, environmental reporting and other ecological factors.
The most ethical company award was given to Brother across its entire product range, which includes ink-jet cartridges, printer cartridges and other office supplies.
Brother was the only major manufacturer to receive ethical status for all of its office supplies. It is currently also the only company to have passed the Ethical Company Accreditation scheme. "We are delighted that the company researchers have recognised the strong track record Brother has on a whole range of environmental and ethical issues," said Chris Hinds, marketing communications manager at Brother.
"Being 'green' and buying ethically makes good business sense," he continued. "Using less paper, consuming less energy, dealing with waste more effectively - these could all save a considerable amount of cash and be good for the environment too."
The results of the ECO's study will be published in the new edition of The Good Shopping Guide, which informs consumers on the ethical status of hundreds of companies selling products around the world.
The ECO also published The Good Shopping Guide the Good Office, a 32-page mini-guide which provides businesses with advice on how to make their office as environmentally-friendly as possible.
At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of printer supplies.
