Samsung to enter office equipment market

Samsung is preparing to enter the office equipment market in a bid to take on the established brands.
HP, IBM, Dell and the like have traditionally had their logos emblazoned across electrical office equipment up and down the country but now Samsung has revealed that it is preparing to enter the fray.
Best known for their range of consumer products, such as mobile phones, PDAs, mp3 players and even kitchen appliances, Samsung is now looking to branch into office products with monitors, printers and other goods.
David Steel, vice president of Samsung's digital media business, said: "Of course, we have a long way to go before we can compete with these established vendors.
"It's not going to happen overnight but we are coming in as a new hungry player with new technology."
This new technology is said to include printer supplies and equipment, with Mr Steel noting that the firm's history in the printing field and its continued investment in research into colour laser printing will set it in good stead.
It has been reported that Samsung is in collusion with Microsoft to develop a 22-ins LCD monitor that will be designed to work specifically with the Vista operating system and will give Samsung a definite advantage of its rivals in the office equipment market.
Plus, last week the firm announced that it had developed the world's thinnest LCD monitor which could revolutionise the office equipment market.
Just 0.82 mm wide, the new LCD screens are barely thicker than a credit card and would clear loads of space on often cluttered office furniture.
Mr Steel added that innovative features and stunning hardware design would play a key part in Samsung's battle in the office equipment market.
At Paperstone we have a range of office products from all the top manufacturers.
