Printer and guillotine shave £100k off material costs

A UK signage firm has claimed that the installation of a second Inca Spyder 320 digital flatbed printer has saved the firm £100,000 on materials and printer supplies.
Southampton-based Appleton Signs has said that the Inca Spyder 320, which cost £210,000 to install, has reduced waste and increased production speeds.
The arrival of a second digital flatbed scanner at the sign firm was part of a massive overhaul of the company's operations and was accompanied by the arrival of a 3.2 metre guillotine and screen-washing equipment.
Production director Luke Appleton said: "We are making savings on materials. We used to use self-adhesive vinyl before over-laminating.
"But we have knocked out the lamination and now go straight onto rigid or foam PVC substrates. Our finishing department is now smaller."
Appleton Signs claims that the Inca Spyder 320 is ideal for small to medium-sized jobs, one-off signs and smaller point of sale items.
Plus it can easily cope with different demands from different print runs. This includes changing seamlessly between a one-off job to an order of several hundred items, all of which need to be printed and completed to the highest standard.
The expansion of Appleton Signs has seen the business invest £1.5 million in a new headquarters complete with new office equipment and machines designed to make work quicker and simple for everyone involved with the firm.
At Paperstone, we have a fully range of office machines and office equipment designed to make your life easier.
