Office equipment converges for convenience
20/11/2006 13:33
A new advancement in office equipment is set to save space on the desk by combining two modern day necessities.
The USB Optical Mouse and SD Memory Card Reader from Wikid does exactly what it says on the tin by combining an optical lens mouse with an SD memory card reader.
While this might not sound a lot, the addition of an SD card reader to a fairly standard piece of office equipment is one of the latest pieces of convergence technology available.
Many office computers do not come with a built-in SD card reader, meaning that many office workers have to install external devices that add another lead to the back of the base unit.
Coupled with all the other peripheral office equipment attached to a PC, including printers, voice over internet protocol headsets and speakers, it can result in a mess of tangled leads.
However, thanks to the new mouse from Wikid, one more lead can be removed from the jumble of office equipment cluttering up the desk.
Simply slotting an SD memory card into the mouse gives office workers complete access to a world of quick and easy data transfer, ranging from files and other important documents to photos and digital music.
And thanks to the Wikid mouse using optical sensors to navigate the cursor, office workers will never suffer from roller balls picking up muck that can compromise the effectiveness of the mouse.
A full range of office equipment can be found on the Paperstone website.
