Stanford Sharpie Permanent Marker Pens - “David Beckham's got his. Have you got yours?”
You may have caught a TV commercial for Sharpie marker pens featuring football megastar David Beckham recently. In it Beckham signs a variety of objects with a Sharpie marker each provided by a fan. As he signs a coffee cup, orange juice carton and magazine in turn he is increasingly impressed by the marker and eventually swaps his jacket (which he also signs) for one. The ad finishes with a contented David Beckham driving along with a Sharpie marker hanging from his wing mirror. This ad has already been running for several months in the US.
To some British viewers the Beckham-marker pen combination may at first seem odd, a bit like Al Pacino selling home insulation or Nelson Mandela fronting a chair lift advertising campaign, but the ad makes a bit more sense when you learn that Sharpie permanent marker pens are “long recognized as the celebrity autograph marker of choice.”
Stanford Sharpie have been making marker pens since the 1960s. Their permanent markers are long lasting, durable and come with a variety of tips including magnum, chisel, bullet, fine and ultra-fine. Retractable versions are also available. Professional maintenance markers can permanently mark almost any surface, even those wet and oily, and their tips can withstand more pressure than standard permanent markers.
Sharpie also make CD/DVD Markers and Flipchart Markers.
So whether it's for autographs or for the workplace, “Write Out Loud!” as the Sharpie slogan goes.
