AV Trolleys and Projector Trolleys
What is an AV or projector trolley for?
An AV trolley (audio-visual trolley) is a general term referring to mobile units with which to store, support and transport audio-visual, presentation equipment – hence the alternative moniker, presentation trolley. A projector trolley will serve as a stand for a projector or OHP during presentations, as well as providing a means to move a projector and other related equipment – such as a laptop – around and between rooms. A mobile multimedia cabinet is a space-saving, secure unit which can accommodate all AV equipment. AV trolleys are commonly seen in schools, universities, editing suites / studios and other workplaces carrying TVs, videos/DVDs and OHPs.
Uses of AV trolleys
- As presentation stands. Projector trolleys are used both as transport and as stands on which to perch projectors in front of projection screens. Some trolleys can also accommodate laptops for use during presentations.
- As secure storage. Mobile multimedia cabinets are essentially cabinets on wheels in which to store all your audio-visual equipment. With locking front and rear doors, multimedia cabinets are designed with maximum security in mind and serve as secure storage to keep expensive equipment safe from theft.
- As transport. AV trolleys are built for strength and heavy duty castors – often locking – can bear the weight of heavy AV equipment such as OHP projectors.
