You might be an accountant or you might not – but do you know your numbers?

Forget spreadsheets for a moment and think about the most important numbers for your health – your blood pressure reading! Do you know what it is?

Everyone should know their blood pressure status – that’s the message of Know Your Numbers Week.

This national awareness campaign takes place from September 12-16 and many businesses and organisations all over the UK are planning to take part.

Why is it important to know your numbers? Well, high blood pressure puts you at risk of having a stroke or heart attack, and that’s pretty serious.

So Blood Pressure UK stage a nationwide blood pressure testing event every year.

Around 1500 “pressure stations” offer free blood pressure checks, enabling over 100,000 people to get a free check-up. If you don’t have a blood pressure station at your place of work, there will probably be one in your local area you could pop along to.

The Blood Pressure UK website has a quick search facility to help you locate your nearest station. It also has a short quiz so that you can assess the impact of your lifestyle on your blood pressure.
