Date for the Dairy

Gone are the days when our mothers prepared our pack lunches for us (for most of us anyway, you know who you are). In these troubled times of adulthood we are forced into piling considerable portions of our salaries into venues such as Prêt a Manger, or taking the time to prepare (often the night before) our very own pack lunch. Not for the faint-hearted. In either case, the question of what to eat on your lunch break is a tricky one.

Well it shouldn’t be tomorrow, as the 12th of April is apparently Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day. The delicious snack to which this day pays homage to has been part of our staple diet for the best part of a century and duly deserves credit, so go on, indulge in one or two.
