Britain’s Dumbest Criminal

An incompetent thief was labelled ‘Britain’s dumbest criminal’, after he was caught on CCTV, allegedly stealing the camera that was filming him.

The thief was “practically kissing the camera” as he spent four hours with a Swiss Army knife trying to dismantle the equipment, apparently oblivious to the fact he was being recorded.

The owner of the premises was a solicitor who is converting the building into offices for his law firm. He told the press: “Originally I was frustrated. But when I saw the footage I thought it was hilarious. The criminal underworld is going to be upset – he is giving them a bad name.”

At least this criminal didn’t post his crimes on Facebook – unlike an American bandit who boasted about his bank raid on the social networking site. FBI agents seized the man after he updated his status message to ‘I’m now a bank robber,’ according to news reports.
CCTV footage from the bank in Tualatin, near Portland, Oregon, showed the shaggy haired robber standing at the counter in a bright stripy jumper, wearing distinctive thick glasses. The man also posted one of the bank surveillance photos as his profile picture, and confessed that he was a diabetic who needed cash for medical treatment. He was arrested two days later in hospital.
