Duct Tape Prom Dresses

In the right circles, DuctBrand.com is renowned for its success in drumming up buzz around a seemingly humdrum product like duct tape. Much of this revolves around getting people to get creative with the tape, making pretty flowers, jewelry and such from “America’s favorite fix-all.”

Each year, DuckBrand.com sponsors a competition to win a college scholarship in which entrants are required to create and accessorise their prom outfits entirely out of duct tape. The winners and runners-up of Stuck At Prom 2012 are pictured above. Lara and Cole (left) used 18 rolls of black, silver, green and purple duct tape and spent 127 hours making their outfits. They each won $5,000 for their scholarships.
