The Secret Life of the Office

The Secret Life of Machines was a great late ‘80s, early ‘90s Channel 4 series which basically told the story of everyday household and office machines like hoovers, electric lights and fax machines. The programme used a mix of Open University-style demonstration (though less staid) and animated narrative.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be posting videos from the series, with an emphasis on office machines. First up, the history of the office itelf, Part 1.
