European Office Paper Gets Greener

By Paperstone on December 5, 2009 in Paper

The fourth Sustainability Report published by the Confederation of European Paper Industries (CEPI) indicates some distinct ecological improvements in the production of Paper in Europe. The document highlights the industry’s “impressive performance on an increased number of indicators and targets,” including a 42 percent drop since 1990 in specific CO2 emissions per tonne of Paper produced.

Said Teresa Presas, MD of CEPI, “This report has been certified by the Global Reporting Initiative and shows that we are credible and transparent. We are committed to this process. We will continue to work to adapt and respond to the challenges that face us while our products are produced sustainably to the benefit of society.”
