US town gives office supplies a budget boost

A small town in the US has given the office supplies department a boost when drawing up its budget for the forthcoming year.

The council of Brick Township, in the eastern state of New Jersey, decided to bump up the next year’s office supplies budget to $1,200 (£606.08), from just $1,000 last year.

According to the Brick Times, the expansion of the town – which is home to nearly 80,000 people – has meant that the local authorities have to spend more on office supplies and office equipment in order to cater for the extra people.

The increase in the budget has been made possible due to savings made throughout the local area during 2007.

Earlier this month, a study found that many workers across the world are becoming increasingly aware of the environmental aspects of using office machines and office supplies.

According to a survey by office machines manufacturer Xerox, 40 per cent of those polled said that their top pet peeve about colleagues was mindless printing resulting in abandoned pages at the side of office products.

At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of office supplies.
