Office supplies fund receives budget boost

By Paperstone on July 14, 2008 in Office Supplies

The cost of office supplies was high on the agenda when a US town was recently discussing its council’s budget for the coming year.

According to Reformer.com, officials in Vernon, Vermont have given the go ahead to let the town council spend an extra $678.50 (£340.28) on office supplies – the same figure which was a surplus from last year’s budget.

The news provider reports that a heated debate between the town’s fire and police chief disputed the location of the extra money but, in the end, it was decided that the council’s office supplies fund would benefit more from the extra money.

Earlier this month, Canon launched a new product designed to help businesses calculate the costs of their office supplies.

Technology developed by Canon and Sepialine can now calculate how much it costs businesses to print documents using their office machines – and also find ways of reducing costs.

Reducing reliance on printer cartridges and inkjet cartridges is at the heart of Canon’s plans, as it looks to improve its environmental record in its office supplies section.

At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of office supplies.
