Office equipment networking ‘made easy’

One of the largest office equipment manufacturers in the world has launched a new software package for its office products to enable them to scan and archive documents more swiftly and efficiently.

Xerox’s new SMARTdocument Travel Express system allows companies to network a number of office machines.

The system allows firms – as well as those working from home – to send documents to network folders, e-mail, a LAN fax, printer, Lotus Notes or SharePoint document management systems.

Roger Ellefson, manager of solutions marketing at Xerox, said: "Xerox is leading the charge to help organisations unlock the power of their Xerox office multifunction systems to make their everyday work easier and more productive.

"With SMARTdocument Travel Express, we’ve made scanning and archiving as simple as pressing a couple buttons."

Last week, Xerox announced a "breakthrough" in colour printing technology, which could make office machines print at over 500 pages each minute.

The research will allow future office machines to print at faster rates, making companies become more efficient.
