Office equipment firms pair up for new venture

A collaboration between two of the largest brands in the world of printer supplies and office machines has been launched in the US.

Japanese printer supplies firm Fujifilm and office equipment manufacturer Xerox have unveiled a new range of office machines designed to help high-quality photograph printing.

The Xerox DocuColor 242/252/260 Digital Colour Printer/Copier allows offices to print high-resolution photos for use in promotional campaigns and can also be used in stores for use by the general public.

Designed for speed, the office equipment can produce up to 60 colour pictures each minute at a resolution of 2400 x 2400 dpi.

John Meyer, vice president of commercial marketing at Fujifilm, said: "From a quality standpoint, I believe the Xerox DocuColor printers will meet the high standards of our pro and commercial lab customers.

"With this solution, Fujifilm is helping our customers increase revenue and expand their product offering."

New York based Xerox launched its first commercial work station in 1981 and the Fujifilm collaboration is the first time it has linked up with another office products company.
