"Versatile" Lexmark office machines get mixed review
31/08/2008 12:44
A new range of office products by a large manufacturer has been described as "versatile" but "bare-bones" by an industry expert.
The Lexmark Z2420 Wireless Inkjet Printer is aimed at small businesses and home workers and is praised by Melissa Riofrio of PC World magazine for being affordable.
Ms Riofrio claims that the office products work well among a small number of office machines due to its "impressive" wireless capabilities.
However, the expert was not as impressed by the office equipment's test results, which she described as "adequate". The Z2420 can print at 10.1 pages per minute black and white, but just five pages per minute in colour.
Ms Riofrio concluded: "As your only printer, the Lexmark Z2420 Wireless would probably disappoint.
"If you want a cheap secondary model for occasional photo printing, however, this would be a reasonable choice, and its wireless feature gives it an advantage over other low-cost printers."
Last month, Lexmark launched a large environmental campaign targeting homes, offices and businesses in the UK.
Lexmark's Earth Month - which ran all the way through April - aims to improve the recycling of printer cartridges, attempts to persuade offices to print documents less and use more eco-friendly office supplies.
