Ricoh introduces new line of office machines
17/01/2008 12:50
Office equipment manufacturer Ricoh has announced that it is launching a new range of HotSpot office machines.
The SP C410DN-KP colour printer and SP 4100N-KP monochrome printer are the first desktop office machines that allow people to print documents from locations enabled with Wi-Fi, the firm claims.
Mobile workers may be particularly interested in the office machines, Ricoh suggests, adding that they also take care of the needs of stationary workers.
The office products function by offering a unique webpage for customers to use to upload a file for printing.
After receipt, the system sends an automatic reply with a secure code that is then fed into the printer to produce the document.
Ann Moser, senior vice president of the printing solutions division at Ricoh Americas Corporation, said that the office products will allow users to "enhance and maximise document workflow" from a variety of locations.
"These new printers fill an essential need for all types of organisations who seamlessly want to integrate this technology into the existing network infrastructure," she explained.
Other office supplies manufactured by Ricoh include printer cartridges and printer supplies.
