New office machines 'at heart of green ethos'
24/01/2008 13:54
A unique environmentally-friendly scheme designed to make full use of office supplies and office products has been launched in the US.
Law firm Hogan & Hartson LLP has rolled out its new green initiative, which includes implementing standards and policies for reducing energy from office equipment and minimising waste created by the company's employees.
The system - which has been named EarthWell - has been introduced to the company's offices in Denver, Boulder and Colorado Springs, in the state of Colorado.
Energy-efficient office equipment will be bought to replace old, less green office products and a policy to print on both sides of paper will be introduced, with the company looking to promote such methods across the US and in the UK.
Cole Finegan, managing partner of Hogan & Hartson's Denver office, said: "We're asking everyone here to consider the impact their work has on our planet and to help make sustainability an even stronger part of the firm's culture.
"We also recognise that we've got a stake in the health and welfare of our employees in what may sometimes be a high-stress business environment."
According to the Times, by simply switching old office machines for new ones, energy bills can be reduced by as much as ten per cent.
At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of office machines.
