Mobile office machines 'for workers on the go'
14/02/2008 16:48
One of the world's largest office machines manufacturers has launched a new mobile office product for business workers on the go.
Brother has unveiled the new M-print mobile printing device which can produce copies at an A6 size when workers are away from the office environment.
The new M-Print MW-260BT can print on several kinds of paper, including carbon copy sheets, which can be especially useful when a signature is required.
With the office machines able to pint on the bigger A6 format - rather than existing office products which print on A7, they are being used by a number of companies across Europe already.
A statement by Brother said: "The portability of the new machine makes it perfect for printing out tickets and fines.
"It can also reduce the amount of paperwork ticket inspectors required to carry; timetable information can be printed for members of the public when the M-print is used as part of a mobile data solution.
"Users will save time normally spent recording details by hand and improve passenger service.
Earlier this month, Brother launched its new HL-2100 range of office machines, which included the wireless-enabled HL-2170W and the network-compatible HL-2150N, which is aimed for businesses which do not have much office space available.

A major office products manufacturer has launched a range of office machines aimed at workers on the go.
Ricoh's new SP C410DN-KP and SP 4100N-KP mobile printers are designed for the busy office workers to print important documents while between their places of work.
According to the Recycler, the office machines - branded as HotSpot printers - ensure convenient access to reliable laser printing from internet enabled laptops, Blackberries or mobile phones.
Each of the office machines has its own unique webpage [one word?] via which mobile users can upload a file or web page URL to be printed. In addition, emails can be forwarded from laptops or PDAs to the printer's own email address
Ann Moser, senior vice president of Ricoh, said: "Ricoh's new HotSpot printers make it simple for business professionals to print important documents no matter where they are.
"These new printers fill an essential need for all types of organisations who seamlessly want to integrate this technology into their existing network infrastructure. This capability enables customers to enhance and maximise document workflow from anywhere at anytime."
Last year, research by Ricoh predicted that the European production printing market will grow to be worth 12.8 billion (£9.59 billion) by 2013.
