HP has announced it has agreed a deal to takeover Canberra-based Tower Software, as it looks to expand its offerings in the fast-growing electronic discovery and compliance software market.
The office machines manufacturer has had a long-standing agreement with Tower Software and the two companies have worked together on several office equipment projects over the past few years.
Robin Purohit, vice-president and general manager of HP, said: "In reaction to increased business regulation, electronic records management has moved from a back-office task to a business-critical function.
"The combination of the HP and Tower software portfolios is expected to be hugely beneficial to the legal and IT organisations of businesses all over the world."
Last month, HP scooped four prestigious prizes at a major awards ceremony.
The subscribers to Wide-Format Imaging lauded HP in a number of categories, including heaping praise on the HP Designjet H35000/H45000, which was honoured with the best Wide-Format UV Printer award.
