Epson office equipment scoops European award

One of the world's largest office machines manufacturers has scooped a prestigious photographic award for the second successive year.
Epson's Stylus Pro 11880 range of office equipment was named as the best photographic printer of the year at the European Digital Press (EDP) Association awards.
The office machines - which are known throughout the digital press industry for giving high-quality, fast prints - took the award ahead of a number of well-known office products, from manufacturers such as HP, Canon and Konica Minolta.
Barbara Kuhr, head of strategic marketing at Epson Europe, said: "In the year that Epson is celebrating 40 years of printing technology, the EDP has recognised Epson's ongoing innovations with the award for best photographic printer of the year 2008.
"This award demonstrates that the values placed on innovation and quality at Epson's inception still hold true today and bring benefits to the graphic arts market in terms of creating high-quality photo printers that deliver industry-leading results."
Last month, Epson launched a campaign to increase the recycling of inkjet cartridges after they have been used in office products.
Epson's Return&Recycle programme aims to limit its impact on the environment, as each set of inkjet cartridges can contain harmful toxins, with various chemicals being used in the toners.
