Venture explores greener use of office supplies

By Paperstone on December 7, 2007 in Office Supplies

The appointment of Joe Czyszczewski as its chief sustainability officer will support efficiency and environmental aims of customers, partners and the company, says InfoPrint Solutions Company (ISC).

This new role, which heads a new team, follows a survey of InfoPrint that found 80 per cent of its print customers were being asked, or expected to be asked soon, to make their business more sensitive to green issues.

Issues include the disposal of printer cartridges and inkjet cartridges and other consumable office products.

Parent company Ricoh, which co-owns the company with IBM, is keen to help reduce waste and pollution created by the industry to a level that is manageable by environmental self-recovery, it says.

This will be achieved by utilising Ricoh‘s environmental accounting programs and concepts.

Jeff Paterra, senior vice president and general manager of technology & solutions development for InfoPrint, said: " Joe’s appointment is part of our pledge to be a good corporate citizen, working alongside Ricoh striving to be a valued and respected member of society by contributing to its sustainable growth."

Ricoh products include fax machines, scanners and a range of other office equipment.

At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of office supplies.
