Schemes for recycling printer cartridges launched

By Paperstone on November 28, 2007 in Ink Cartridges And Toners

Office equipment supplier Samsung Electronics America is providing free recycling for inkjet cartridges from its laser and multi-function printers, it has emerged.

Printer cartridges can be posted to the office machines manufacturer for free, Samsung said.

FedEx shipping labels and boxes for used inkjet cartridges can be selected at the company’s website and will be posted out to office equipment users.

Almost half of used printer cartridges in the US and western Europe are currently thrown out rather than being used for recycling, Samsung revealed.

That is why the office products firm decided to create a scheme that would be simple and straightforward, it said.

Taking responsibility for the lifecycle of office products and their environmental impact is a Samsung green management objective, said Mr. JH Kim, ITD Division President for Samsung Electronics America.

"Offering a completely free and simple to use recycling return program … provides Samsung users a convenient way to insure exhausted products are reused in an environmentally responsible process," he added.

Samsung produces a wide range of office equipment, office machines and office supplies for both business and home use.

At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of office equipment.
