Paper shredder run by hamster

By Paperstone on April 11, 2007 in Office Supplies

As offices across the UK continue to try to meet the increasing number of eco-friendly government regulations, Tom Ballhatchet’s new product design has taken green measures to the limit.

Mr Ballhatchet’s new Paper shredder relies on hamster power to safely dispose of private documents.

The hamster’s wheel is hooked up to the shredder, which slices documents up according to how fast the small animal decides to run.

Then the household pet is free to collect the shredded Paper and use it for nesting and bedding purposes.

Green issues have been at the forefront of the political agenda in recent months, with Tory leader David Cameron championing the use of solar panels on his roof and regularly cycling to work.

It’s safe to assume not all office bosses will want the pets taking up valuable space on their office desks and causing bad smells in the working environment.

But for those ultra-green businesses this product might seem right up their street.

Mr Ballhatchet will be showcasing his new design at the Salone Del Mobile furniture show in Milan next week.

I wonder if he’ll be putting Mr Cameron down for one?

At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a cool selection of office supplies.
