Medion launches second-generation Ultra Mobile PC

German mobile computer technology specialist Medion has launched its latest Ultra Mobile PC for office staff that are constantly on the move.

If you find your office desk is increasingly likely to be swapped for train and plane tables, then this mobile device could for you.

Designed with commuters and mobile professionals in mind, the UMPC RIM 1000 features all the things you would expect from a decent mobile PC.

A neat slide-down QWERTY keyboard is complemented by a series of navigation tools, including a passive touch-screen and a mini-touchpad, as well as a four-way navigation button plus left and right mouse buttons.

The 6.5-inch screen offers slick 800 x 480 pixel resolution and at 19 x 12cm with a 2.8cm thickness, the device is pretty compact.

It uses Windows Vista software and has 768MB of RAM, as well as featuring Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 for wireless connectivity.
