Lexmark X4550 printers provide “excellent value”

A reviewer has praised the high value that consumers receive from a new range of Lexmark printers.

The X4550 office machines – which include a photo printer, flatbed scanner and copier – provide good value for money, according to ThinkCamera.

Regarding design, the reviewer describes the office machines as "cute and small" and resembling a device from Apple’s design studio.

A two-line scrolling LCD screen provides a clear and bright indication of the printers’ status, the reviewer claims, while also reminding users to switch off the office machines when not in use.

Additionally, the printers feature an aerial for Wi-Fi connectivity, which may allow people to print from their laptops in home offices or digital darkrooms. There is also a USB socket, but no Ethernet port.

The printers utilise two printer cartridges – one black and one with the typical four colours.

However, the reviewer adds: "Trouble is, at the same price, you get printers that use multiple colour cartridges; these may cost more, but deliver better print quality."

Printing speeds are also a bit slow, according to the website; but it claims that "scan and copy options fare rather better" when tested.

Lexmark photo printers recently placed fifth in a survey of user satisfaction.

At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of printer supplies.
