HP offers printers chance to try before they buy

Printer supplies giant Hewlett-Packard (HP) is offering potential customers the opportunity to try before they buy, with tests on its new photo printer taking place across the UK.

HP is the world’s leading printer supplies brand and such marketing campaigns are sure to help it maintain its status as a world beater.

Customers will be able to try out the new Photosmart Pro B9180 A3+ printer with no obligation to buy one.

Potential buyers can also take home the award-winning model and return it within 30 days if not totally satisfied under HP’s ‘buy and try’ option.

Testing of the new model will be taking place in stores in most major cities in Britain, including London, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Glasgow, Belfast and Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, printer supplies rival Kyocera has an official complaint with the Advertising Standards Authority over a recent colour laser promotion by HP.

Ian Joslin, general manager at Kyocera UK, said: "HP’s marketing approach is typical of the ‘smoke and mirrors’ tactics that have been employed by our competitors for many years."

HP stepped up the printer supplies war with the Japanese firm by claiming the cost per page amount on its latest line was 60 per cent lower than Kyocera’s.

At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of printer supplies.
