CIPS creates new web service

The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) has launched a new online presence to enable purchasing managers in firms to buy goods more effectively.

According to Brian Ford, director of marketing and communications at CIPS, believes that firms required a service which would provide them with a “reliable, independent facility” with which to purchase a range of items, including a range of office supplies such as Paper shredders and laminators.

The site, buyerbriefings.com, would enable purchasing managers to “identify savings opportunities and prove savings deliveries as they occur,” Mr Ford said.

Managers looking to purchase other office equipment, such as printer cartridges and other printer supplies will be able to enjoy a ten per cent discount on others services they receive through using the website.

The site will also possess an online forum where employers can discuss issues about price trends and discuss prices paid by other professionals.
