University earmarks half a million for office furniture
12/06/2007 16:28
A Macclesfield-based office furniture firm has carried out a £500,000 furniture specification, as part of plans to build a new £23 million state-of-the-art learning and teaching support facility for the University of Sheffield.
Broadstock Office Furniture, a specialist in planning and managing large-scale projects, carried out the specification over an eight-month period.
The company commissioned the office furniture from its in-house manufacturing facility and sourced unitary elements, including high bar stools, office chairs and office desks from leading market providers.
Broadstock managed to engineer an uncluttered environment, designed to meet students' learning requirements.
Matt Cartwright, senior architect at RMJM Architects, said: "Broadstock quickly gained an understanding of our concept for the interior and used all their marketplace expertise to present a detailed solution that's faithful to our vision."
The University of Sheffield was established in 1897, but formally became a university eight years later.
Around 25,000 students go to the university, with most of them coming from the UK, although more than 3,000 international students attend the institution.
Its most famous graduates include comedian Eddie Izzard, former FA chief executive David Davies and Camelot chairman and current chancellor Sir Peter Middleton.
At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of office furniture.
