Printer cartridges too expensive, Kodak study finds
08/11/2007 17:24
Nearly three-quarters of people in the UK think that printer cartridges are too expensive, according to research from office machines manufacturer Kodak.
Some 74 per cent of respondents said that the cost of printer cartridges was too high, while many people said this feeling made them have second thoughts about using their own office equipment for printing documents.
The study also found that 41 per cent of Britons who have office machines in their homes prefer to use the office equipment at work to print personal documents. Meanwhile, 64 per cent of Londoners said they regularly do so.
A total of £105 is spent each year by the average person on ink for their office machines.
"When it comes to the high cost of ink, the people of Britain have been ripped off for far too long now and they know it," commented Enrico Bradamante, head of Inkjet Printing in Europe, Africa and Middle East at Eastman Kodak Company.
"Some things are better printed at home - and thanks to Kodak, now there is simply no excuse not to.
Photographs, CVs, recipes and application forms are some of the documents which Mr Bradamante suggested could be printed using Kodak office machines at home.
Kodak recently launched a competition called Pricey Ink Stinks, which aims to respond to the high expense of printer cartridges and ink.
